I’m Natalie Brown. I founded Sounds Heal Studio to fulfill a calling: to help others heal and grow with the gift of sound.
My passion for music began long before I discovered the practice of sound healing: I was classically trained in violin from the age of four at the Preucil School of Music, where I discovered my connection to musical expression, and to a method to soothe and work through emotions.
I continued with violin through high school, majored in music in college, and performed not just with orchestras, but touring folk, rock, jazz, and bluegrass bands. I taught high school orchestra for 14 years in Cedar Rapids, conducting on stages from Carnegie Hall to St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna.
“Once I discovered something that worked for my own healing, it led me onto a pathway of helping others.”
Music was my ticket to travel the world, performing, recording, teaching, and continuing my studies. I earned a master’s in music education and spent a year in a graduate program in Scotland, focusing on traditional Scottish fiddle music and education as part of a master’s in ethnology degree.
When I discovered the benefits of sound for health and wellness, it was because of a personal need. I was seeking ways to relax and reduce the stress of being a high school teacher. This led me to meditation, tai chi, and then sound healing and other healing modalities. Once I found something that worked for my own healing, it led me onto a pathway to helping others.
I always understood that music can help us move through difficulties, to shift what we feel. Yet as I went through training courses for sound healing, I was awed by my experiences and those of others. People were experiencing transformations and miracles. I quickly realized that there’s no better way to incorporate everything I’ve done, with more of a purpose.
Since I founded Sounds Heal Studio, I’ve witnessed the power of sound to create transformation and healing in so many people’s lives. I’d be honored to guide you on your journey as you uncover the wisdom that’s already within you, realize greater health and wellness, and discover your personal power.
